Accommodation at Tophouse

Comfort, quiet and million-dollar views

If you love history, stay at the B&B and take yourself back to the droving days. If you prefer a modern space, relax in the privacy of our motel-style cottages. Or if you’ve brought your own mobile accommodation, simply park up and plug in!
Whatever style of accommodation you choose, you’ll have full access to our landscaped grounds, children’s playground, and quirky little bar—NZ’s “oldest smallest”. You’re also welcome to book breakfast or dinner at our restaurant (dinner reservations require 24 hours notice). All B&B rooms and cottages contain heaters and electric blankets to keep you snug on chilly nights.

Historic Bed & Breakfast

For the romantics! Our lovely old inn with its thick cob walls and enormous fireplaces will win your heart.

The rooms are tastefully styled for their vintage. They’re not large—they didn’t build ‘em big in 1887—but they’re cozy. Ensuites weren’t a thing back then either, so two bathrooms and two separate toilets are shared among the four guestrooms.

Due to safety and noise considerations the B&B isn’t suitable for babies or children under 8 years of age.

Motorhomes & Caravans

Campervans parked at Tophouse at St Arnaud
Peace, quiet, and the Nelson Lakes region’s famous dark skies—what more could you need when you park up?

Power, maybe. Possibly a beverage or two, a hot shower and access to a washing machine. Somewhere for the kids to run around. And the strangely soothing sight of alpacas tearing around the paddock.

We’ve got all that! We’ll even serve you dinner if you give us enough notice (24 hours, thanks).

Please note all vehicles MUST be self-contained.
